Rick Cumberland is a senior executive with over 30 years of experience in leadership roles in meeting the housing and care needs of the senior population across the United States. He is accomplished in operations start-up, turnaround and expansion with an emphasis in not-for-profit senior living organizations and boards. Rick provides extensive experience in developing strategic planning and operations and driving financial performance, with special attention to the unique mission and values of nonprofit organizations. He is a collaborative and proactive leader with a record of building successful teams and developing excellent, purpose-driven leaders with strong skills and integrity.
MA, MSW, LCSW – Director of Resident Services
Kelly has joined the team as the director of resident services. She has a master’s degree in gerontology from Webster University and a Master of Social Work degree from Saint Louis University. She is credentialed as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with the State of Missouri and has spent the past 8 years in long-term care and clinical social work settings. During that time she has gained a wide variety of experiences including providing community education, veteran’s services, transitional care, dementia and mental health care. Kelly and her husband, John, enjoy exploring fun things to do with their daughter, Teagan, as well as finding new restaurants and local festivals. She loves to travel to new places, but a beach is always her favorite. Kelly and her family try to stay involved in their neighborhood and volunteer with homeless shelters and coordinate donation drives for charity.
Gail Henry joined Aberdeen Heights Business Office in August 2017, bringing 36 years of accounting experience. She has a Computer Application degree and certification in Accounting. Gail’s passions include her family, genealogy, travel and her home town San Francisco 49er’s!

Director of Nursing
Dawn has always wanted to be a nurse and has been in this profession for more than 30 years. She started her career in the emergency department and ICU at Cook County Hospital in Illinois. She thought she was going to stay where the “excitement” was for the rest of her career. Lucky for us, she took a position in a long-term care community, ended up falling in love with her residents, and she’s worked in long-term care ever since. She’s worked as a CNA, charge nurse, MDS coordinator, ADON and director of nursing. She’s been married for over 30 years to husband Michael and has four children ages 15-28. She’s done volunteer work in Columbia, South America, and for the American Red Cross. She’s also been a foster mom for the Humane Society. Her heroes are Florence Nightingale and Maya Angelou.
The Glen at Aberdeen Heights Administrator
Lily Landy recently became administrator of The Glen at Aberdeen Heights. A licensed nursing home administrator since 1976, Lily has worked in a variety of St. Louis County communities. She graduated from Maryville University with a degree in business management/administration, and in her spare time, she volunteers at community organizations and churches. Lily is also a member of St. Martha’s Hall, a not-for-profit agency providing shelter for abused women and children. She loves to cook, walk, play golf and, most of all, spend quality time with her family.
Life Enrichment Director
Susan Press joined Aberdeen Heights in February 2018 as life enrichment director for independent living. She has experience in event planning, volunteer coordination, sales, marketing and alumnae relations. Susan has a Bachelor of Science degree in foods and nutrition, and worked in food service before moving into special events. She has been an alderwoman of Pasadena Hills, Mo., for 4 years.
A graduate of St. Louis Community College with a degree in Culinary Arts, Erik Wright has been a chef since 2002 and an executive chef since 2007. He began his career in the kitchens of some of the area’s best country clubs and has been creating delicious meals for Aberdeen Heights since 2012.
Executive Assistant to the Executive Director
Beth Ann Johnston has joined our Administration team as executive assistant to the executive director. She brings more than 30 year of office and customer service to our community. Beth Ann and her husband of 43 years enjoy traveling, spending time with their family, gardening, camping and volunteering in their community.
LNHA, senior marketing and sales director
Christie Wolff, Licensed Nursing Home Administrator, brings more than 25 years of experience in the health care field to the Aberdeen Heights team. She will be serving as the senior marketing and sales director. She has served in various roles throughout the years with the most recent being administrator of an assisted living community as well as the assistant executive director for an independent living community. Her ultimate goal is to bring exceptional services to the residents she serves that will enhance their quality of life. When away from work, Christie finds joy in spending time with her husband and three children.
The Rev. Julie Allen Berger, D. Min., BCC - HPCC joined Aberdeen Heights in the Fall of 2018 after several decades as a healthcare chaplain to oncology patients, family members, and staff. She holds a specialty board-certification in Hospice and Palliative Care from the Association of Professional Chaplains. Her faith tradition is Presbyterian, U.S.A. She has worked as an associate pastor and pastoral counselor in the St. Louis community. Her interests include promoting professional resiliency through understanding compassion fatigue. Julie enjoys cycling, hiking, and travel with her family.
