Aberdeen Heights independent living resident tests positive for COVID-19

– As the state of Missouri tops 100,000 cases of COVID-19 since the pandemic began, Aberdeen Heights continues to battle the virus. The community learned Monday that an independent living resident has tested positive. The resident and the resident’s spouse self-quarantined Thursday, September 8, after learning they had been exposed by a close contact who they had recently visited. The couple sought testing on Friday, September 11 and learned Sunday evening that one of them had tested positive for COVID-19.

Aberdeen Heights reports more negative COVID-19 test results

Aberdeen Heights received more good news following selective testing at the community August 27. The testing was conducted after two employees tested positive the week of August 23. The community tested 66 residents and 99 employees in The Glen due to possible exposure to an essential health care worker who tested positive August 23. An additional 6 residents and 2 employees were tested following a potential exposure to a non-direct resident care employee who works in independent living.

With the average positivity rate for COVID-19 cases in St. Louis County hovering around 8 percent, Aberdeen Heights once again reports a non-direct resident care employee has tested positive for the virus. This brings the senior living community’s 7-day total to 2 employees who have tested positive for COVID-19.

As the COVID-19 pandemic continues to impact senior living communities, Aberdeen Heights announces that an essential healthcare employee has tested positive for the virus. The employee last worked Friday, August 21. The employee sought COVID testing after feeling ill over the weekend and received a positive test result late on Saturday, August 22.
