The day-to-day operation of Aberdeen Heights is led by dedicated professionals who bring a wealth of experience and specialized expertise to their positions.
James “Jamie” Kneen, Executive Director
James “Jamie” Kneen joined Aberdeen Heights as executive director in February 2015. He has a degree in health services administration from the University of Missouri, and has worked in hospitals in Wisconsin and Ohio. He served as executive director of a senior living community in Kalamazoo, Michigan, and was executive director of a large new continuing care retirement community in downtown Chicago, Illinois.
“Jamie brings a wealth of experience to our team and is well qualified for the position at Aberdeen Heights” said Bruce Shogren, Presbyterian Manors of Mid-America chief executive officer.
Jamie’s personal interests include golf, movies, fitness, cooking and wine. As a child, he wanted to be a fighter pilot and eventually become an astronaut. His first job was painting the exterior of his uncle’s factory. His personal heroes are Thomas Jefferson and Abraham Lincoln. Something most people don’t know about Jamie is that he collects Santa Claus postcards from the early 1900s.
Kathleen Wayman, Marketing Director
Kathleen first joined Aberdeen Heights as a senior living counselor in August 2007. She had spent the previous six years in a similar position at Meramec Bluffs, a continuing care retirement community. After leaving us for a brief period to perform marketing outreach at St. Andrew’s Senior Solutions, Kathleen returned to Aberdeen Heights in 2011 as marketing director. Kathleen has a bachelor of business administration-marketing degree from Loyola University and a master’s in gerontology from Webster University. When not in the office, Kathleen enjoys bike riding and working on ACTS retreats for her church. Her first job was managing a 300-apartment Section 8 building in downtown St. Louis for 7 years. As a child, she wanted to be a nurse; with 5 younger siblings, she had lots of practice. Her favorite comedian is her son, Matt Wayman, and her hero is her father, because he raised a family of 8 children while serving as the primary caregiver for his father and mother.
Jill Adkisson, Administrative Assistant
Prior to joining Aberdeen Heights, Jill was an administrative assistant for 15+ years, most recently at SSM St. Clare Health Care for 7 years. Prior to that she was an executive administrative assistant for Aon Consulting, Inc. in Clayton, Missouri, where she supported the Health and Welfare Benefits VP and team of consultants. She has lived in Fenton/St. Louis her entire life and attended the University of Missouri at Columbia. Jill has been married to her husband for 5 years and has a 13-year-old stepson named Casey. When not in the office, Jill enjoys lounging by the pool, being outdoors (going for walks and biking) and traveling (especially to the beach). Her first job was as a games associate at Six Flags; and as a child she wanted to be a veterinarian. Her favorite comedian is Tom Hanks, and her hero is anyone willing to rescue an animal in danger. She has a love for nature, wildlife, and especially cats!
Kathleen Braun, Business Office Director
Kathleen joined us in June 2011, after serving the previous four years as finance manager for St. John’s Mercy Medical Center. She has more than 25 years of financial management experience, including positions with BJC Healthcare, Missouri Baptist, and manager of special projects for HT Financial Corp. She has a bachelor’s degree in business and economics from Mount St. Mary’s University and a master’s degree in finance from St. Louis University. Active in her church (St. Clement), Kathleen has served as president of its Ladies Society, auction co-chair, treasurer of Home and School at St. Clement School, Girl Scout leader, Women’s ACTS retreat leader liaison leader with Life Teen, and is currently director of Women’s ACTS. When not in the office, Kathleen likes decorating, shopping and biking. Her first job was a babysitter, and as a child she wanted to be a math teacher. Her favorite comedian is Ellen, and her hero is Jesus. Something most people don’t know about Kathleen is that she lived in Canada.
